The present monograph, retaining to the “Herbal Wealth of Uttarakhand” is an attempt towards our understanding of the diversity of seed bearing plants from this important sector of Himalaya, characterized by wide topography which is shared by the upper Gangetic plain, the Siwalik ranges and the high mountainous peaks. Attempts have been made, to adopt the revised and up to date nomenclature, to record local name, similarly equivalent English and Sanskrit name (wherever available). The brief description of plants includes habit, vegetative features, inflorescence and floral characters and period of flowering and fruiting. Apart from this, ethno- botanical information is also incorporated wherever available
